Everything in our collections is important to preserve. But sometimes objects are especially important. For example extinct animals, which can only be found in museums. Naturalis has 16.000 drawers full of butterflies. Many butterflies have existed for centuries, but some are now extinct. Because they are stored, scientists can still research these butterflies.
